The Dollhouse TV show is one of its kinds in the genre of science fiction. It is very different and fantastic compared to others. This show is the brain child of the popular writer and director Joss Whedon and was first launched on televisions from 28th July 2009.
The idea of the show goes to the future where futuristic labs called Dollhouses are situated underground. These labs have Actives who are none other than the humans, they erase the memory of the humans and reprogram their memories with different skill sets of personalities so that they are assigned to do a particular task, these Actives are referred to as Dolls.
The Actives are taken by the rich and wealthy people and also companies who use them for specific purposes and each of the Doll’s memory is altered in a way they carry out these tasks. After the specified task for them is completed their memories are erased and again reloaded for some other new task
In this series the audiences are shown the story of one such Doll called Echo. The role of Echo is done by the stunning Eliza Dushku. As the story moves on Echo realizes where she is and how people are using her in the Dollhouse gradually. In the meantime someone from the outside is trying to break the idea of Dollhouses and the reality of it and try to get in contact with Echo. Although the person doesn’t realize that Echo is one among the Dolls who are inside the Dollhouse.
Many people have varied reviews and comments for the show. While most of them appreciate for the fresh idea of new technology created by Joss Whendon in this show, few other feel that there is nothing so new about this show and is also feel the idea is of no logic. Many critics feel that the show has made many people to think and this is evident from the entire questions arose about this show. They also have given reviews telling that it’s not the usual kind of science fiction drama.
